Temporary expo blocked the view
The Old Church is one of the main attdaction of Amsterdam and I was really looking forward to it. When I arrived, I learnt that there was a temporary exhibition of a contemporary artist. It consisted of HUGE blocks (some reaching the vault) and clothes installed on the floor, so couldn't get a real grasp of the Church as a whole and make the most of the edifice... But the organ was in sight and that in itself is spectacular. And the map they give at the entrance is fun!

Oude Kerk. or old church
This church dates from 15th century , as a building this church has an interesting life.Parts of the building dates from the 13th century. The bells in the tower date from 1681. Up till today this church serves as a protestant church. there are services on Sundays people can attend. the building is also used for other purposes. like every first Sunday in September there is a paper market or textile market. those are once a year events wel wort visiting . The church just like the Rijswijk museum are easily reached by public transport. Combine your visit to the church with a visit to the museum. Enjoy your visit to Rijswijk.
