    A climb for the keen!
I have climbed a lot of church towers and do not experience claustrophobia but the climb up Nieuwe Kerk put me on edge! The tower stairs are narrow, slippery, steep and two people can barely pass each other. To pass you need to cling to the walls or the centre of the stairs. I am a fit person and nearly slipped on multiple occasions. My sister and I only had tiny bags with us and we were advised not to take them with us, which makes sense as there is no space. There are a couple of places to rest if you get tired. We encountered multiple people who were halfway up the tower and were scared of continuing. When you make it up to the viewing platform you get an amazing view of Delft and it makes the walk worthwhile. If you have concerns about climbing the church tower, I would recommend going early when there are less people so you can take your time. It cost 4.50 Euros to climb the tower, 5.50 Euros to visit the church and 8.50 Euros for both.

A lovely building with great views from the tower and an insight into Dutch history
I impulsively went into the church (entertainingly it's the New Church despite being over 7 centuries old) to see what it had to offer and I was delighted with it. To start there's the option to pay to climb the tower which I did and was rewarded with a fantastic view of the city and surrounding areas. I'd flag that it was relatively physically demanding so people with reduced mobility might want to think about it before buying the tickets. The church itself was also interesting-it's the burial site of numerous members of the Dutch Royal family including William the Silent, founding father of the Netherlands (a visit here can pair well with a visit to the museum dedicated to him just down the road), and you learn quite a bit about the changing history of Delft and the royal family while exploring it. The ticket also gets you entry to the Old Church around the corner which I unfortunately didn't have the time to visit
