    A must!
What a GREAT museum! TIP: Go as early as possible. We arrived at 3:45pm with it closing at 5 and we had to speed through it. (We will be back!) The building is stunning and there are many cafes sprinkled across the floors. So you can really make a morning/day/afternoon here. This is a super kid friendly museum with tons of interactive things for kids to play and touch. The place was packed with kids (Sunday). There is a lot to see and the most complete T-rex in the world is here as well! How cool is that? We had a great time and will be going again and recommending it to friends, always!

    Renovated, reopened and absolutely superb!
What a great museum / day out for adults or families with kids. The museum (which had a super collection before) has been completely renovated and is now a real pleasure to visit. Multiple floors of exhibits and a winding route through the museum gently works upwards through geological time, geographies and environments with a mixture of status displays, audio visuals and interactive 3D and 4D experiences. The room in which you enter a Japanese earthquake is particularly fun (and very authentic) and the dinosaurs are just wonderful. One of the worlds most complete T-Rex skeletons and some really great interactive dinosaur exhibits too. A good restaurant/cafe/shop as well. The architecture of the lobby with beautiful modern wooden galleries, light and natural stone stairways is just gorgeous (and can be viewed for free!) The museum itself is not cheap (16 euros, also for children older than 4) so make sure you allow enough time to see it (or buy a museumkaart which allows you unlimited access to many museums in NL which is good value)
