Peaceful spot with children’s playground, old gateway, nearby bars and restaurants. Like much of Leiden canals nearby very pleasant.

Historical City Gate with Hotel next door
The Morspoort is one of the eight original city gates of Leiden. It was built in 1669 to replace a wooden building - and now is a state monument. Next door is an old garnison which now is a hotel. Not to be missed on a Leiden city walk.

Perfect parking place!
Parked overnight for stay at the nearby Ibis hotel. We left most of our holiday gear in the vehicle as we had an early start the next day - the parking seemed safe and secure. Only a few minutes walk to the hotel, the train/bus station and the centre of Leiden. Very reasonable price too.
