A fun breather for kids and grown-ups
Between our packed schedule of sightseeing with young grandchildren, we took a break and visited this indoor play place on the outskirts of Gouda. It had the usual climbing amusements and active entertainment that these centers provide, but was one of the better ones I have seen. Large and very clean throughout, with many tables for adults to visit or work at while the kids play. A snack bar provided hot and cold food and drinks. It might be noisy fun, but we were able to stay longer than planned because the adults were also comfortable. I learned from my daughter there that Dutch children play very well together with less need for parental intervention, as is done in the US. They work out any issues on their own, so one never sees a spoiled, pouting Dutch child racing up to complain to Mommie or Teacher about a playmate. It was refreshing to witness that at parks, school grounds, and facilities like Monkey Town. Parents can interact, or work alone as needed, without constant crying interruptions. The Netherlands has figured out a good thing!

    Generally "okay"
We celebrated our daughter's birthday at MT Gouda. The setup here is fine, the kids enjoyed themselves for over three hours. The place is big with lots of space to sit and play around. The one thing that bothered me, is the general mentality and presentation of the employees. They don't entertain and gave us the impression they don't really care about (entertaining) children. The general lack of interest in (entertaining) children by heart, it is just a way of earning a salary. If the company is able to change the mentality and be able to truly entertain both children and adults, this concept would be great! Maybe our impression is based on 'just a unfortunate momentum', so I am happy to give MT-Gouda another change in nearby future. Aside this; worth a try!
