Leiden channel boat trip.
In the April we went to the Nederland. One day we spent on the boat were we going to channel trip. Fantastic weather, water whisper and family fun time. Unbelievable.

Great place to get maps etc, a nice gift shop as well..
We bought the Leidse Loper (walker)booklet. It is a walking route that took us along several historic sites such as the spot where Rembrandt's birth house once stood, the house he grew up in (free entrance, has a gift shop) along the canals, churches all in the centre of Leiden, Morspoort, two windmills. About 5 km. there is so much to see it takes a few hours.

Why Isn't There a Combo Ticket?
Museums in Leiden are very expensive, and since there are many of them, the cost can really mount up. Very strange that there is no combination ticket for tourists wishing to visit several of them. We did happen to get a combo ticket for the botanical gardens and the museum of antiquities because of the exhibition on medieval museums at the latter, but we only got that because we happened to spot a notice in Dutch at the gardens, before we had visited the museum. The tourist office did not mention it, and I suspect they don't even know about it. If Leiden is going to move up as a tourist centre, which it is perfectly capable of doing based on its great museums, it needs to become more innovative in this respect.
