Fabulous architecture and city life
The Kop van Zuid is a superbly gentrified former docklands area very much in the center of Rotterdam- can be reached by foot easily via the iconic Erasmus bridge. The centerpiece is no doubt the monumental Holland America Lijn building, now hotel New York. It is surrounded by stunning highrise architecture such as De Rotterdam and the Montevideo buildings. A very nice and arty city park (featuring eg. the fabulous Lost Luggage Depot artwork) sits at the western waterfront. A must see in Rotterdam!

Beautifull new architecture
Rotterdam is a very new city, this part is beautifull in many ways. Great architecture, great view, close to very nice bars and restaurants.

Do Visit After Crossing Erasmus Bridge
The Kop van Zuid is the location of the New York Hotel, which used to be the Holland America Lines shipping office. It is a lovely old building which sits at the end of the Kop van Zuid and is a water taxi stop. For 3.60 euros pp you can travel by water taxi from the inntel hotels at Leuvehaven to the Kop van Zuid and get another perspective of the city and a part of its inner city harbour.
