Must see if you're in Dordrecht

The museum is the house of the banker and collector Simon van Gijn who lived there from 1864 until his death in 1922. Van Gijn left the house and most of his collections to the Old Dordrecht Society. His wish was for the collections to be made publicly accessible and for his home to be converted into a museum, maintaining the interior in its original state as much as possible.

    Historical must see House
I love visiting these old and well-preserved houses. Have seen many of them, mostly in the UK, and I had no idea we have them of this quality in the Netherlands too. Dordrecht is overall quite a nice city and this house is a must see!

    Intriguing city house
It was fascinating to see a grand house in the city. As a uk citizen, i am used to seeing grand country houses, but fewer Town houses. There was limited information in English, but Google translate coped well with the information boards. The toy attic was fascinating. I could have spent longer but i was running out of energy by then. The cafe was good, I think a slightly limited choice of savouries, but a good looking selection of cakes.
