From whence the Pilgrims sailed

Delfshaven was a 15 minute metro ride from Blaak where we were staying. We spent a lovely 3 hours there walking around and enjoying the historic district. We visited Pilgrim church and learned all the history of the Pilgrims. There are beautiful galleries and lovely restaurants to enjoy as well.

    Calm, traditional and small neighborhood in Rotterdam
    Delfshaven is one of the few neighborhoods in Rotterdam that was spared during the bombing of World War II and therefore still has the charm of old Dutch cities. Delfshaven is a historic area, with old buildings, canals and a windmill. Highlight for De Pelgrim brewery, the only brewery in the city, the Church where pilgrims met before traveling to America and the warship De Delft. Great to have a walk and take some pictures

    a look back in time!
    If you like to know how Rotterdam looked befor the war. Delfshaven gives you a peek in history! With the old houses and bridges and "jenever"factories. It's no doubt one of the nicest aireas in Rotterdam! Easy to reach by Watertaxi
