Since 1969 only great viewpoints left
The old "Barendrechtse brug" must have been a spectacular sight. For almost a century (1888-1969) it spanned the old Meuse river linking Rotterdam with Hoekschewaard. Since the opening of the Heinenoordtunnel it became superfluous and was dismantled. What remains are bridgeheads on both sides of the river. Now they are pleasant viewpoints.
