Looking out over the sea since 1605
The historic Katwijk lighthouse was built in 1605 to bring home Katwijk’s own fishermen. Now it is a museum and a viewtower. The old shrimping ship KW88 “Zorg en Hoop” (care and hope) has been attractively positioned in front of the lighthouse.

Go th the top of this beacon!
On the balcony you'll have a great view over the village and the North-sea! Unfortunately the old fish-boat KW88 is not longer on the display.

Worth the 1 euro for the view alone
Located at the end of the Boulevard this former lighthouse has stood since 1605 Entry fee of 1 euro with steep narrow steps to the top where there are stunning views On the platforms on the way up there are interesting pictures of Old Katwijk in its fishing heyday ,sadly because all writing in Dutch we had to guess much of the written content
