Sunny, safe and spectacular!
Great experience all around! The staff is efficient, careful, thorough and very safety-minded. I felt comfortable from the time I walked in the door until we left after our ride. The pilot was very knowledgeable and provided excellent narration during the flight, answering our questions about what we were seeing and giving us some of the history of the area. We would not hesitate to take friends with us next time, or to recommend Black Hills Helicopters to anyone thinking about a helicopter ride in the Keystone area.

Breathtaking Views and Worth Every Penny!!!
Selected the “Monumental” Tour, and it was PERFECT! Anything less would have been just a tease! Wanted to see both Mount Rushmore and Thunderhead Mountain where Crazy Horse is being carved. Our pilot, Wyne, was an exceptional tour guide, and he explained the historical significance of the landscape and monuments as we flew. He was professional, well spoken, and our safety and personal comfort were paramount. Wyne also turned the helicopter while flying to ensure that every seat in the helicopter had superb views of everything we wanted to see. Suggest starting a video on your phone while walking to the helicopter and keeping it going all during the flight. I took both photos and several short videos. Even the helicopter buzz was captured on the video - but not the headset they supplied so we could talk while flying. Suggest a video so that you can still enjoy what you are flying to view. It is easy to try and capture everything in photos because views are so breathtaking, but do not fall into this trap. Take a video and enjoy the ride!!! The staff were all courteous and professional, and they were very knowledgeable when reviewing the safety procedures of the flight. My husband has a bad back, and the evening we stopped to get information on the available flights, they allowed my husband to sit in the helicopter to ensure he could get in and out. It was not a problem, and my husband weighs between 250 and 300 pounds. The pilot, Wyne, was so exceptional with every aspect of our experience that this became the souvenir of a lifetime!!! Because the tour was so incredible and better than we ever envisioned, we begged to leave the 3 staff and Wyne a 15% tip. They graciously accepted, but only because they knew how much it meant to us. Should have likely left more than 15%, but we had little cash not realizing a tip would be so appreciated. Highly recommend a tour with Black Hills flight given their heightened safety standards, especially as compared with other helicopter tours in the near vicinity. In addition, this company was just named the 6th best helicopter tour in the ENTIRE COUNTRY! This is worth every penny and then some! Recommendations: 1. Take at least a 30-45 minute flight. 2. Take a video as opposed to photos so you do not miss any scenery or the awe of the entire experience. 3. We were unaware that tips for a great experience are graciously accepted, but neither the staff nor the pilot will ask for them. Tips are not expected but appreciated
