Marvelious Murray Experience
We embarked on a 2 night cruise on the Murray with the Proud Mary. The experience was amazing from start to finish. The staff were very friendly & accommodating, they even carried our bags to our cabins & made sure we were settled. The food was great, but not as fancy as what I had expected. The onshore experiences were great, with a day in Mannum & further upriver we were treated to a guided tour by a local, a walking tour of the local national park & a BBQ dinner (with lots of food), dessert & tea. Later on in our journey I even had the opportunity of driving the Proud Mary (while wearing the Captain's had) & tooting the whistle. It was heaps of fun. It was lovely to meet & get to know the other passengers onboard the Proud Mary. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Adelaide & wants a true Murray River Experience. I don't believe this experience is suitable for families with children.

5 NIGHT Cruise ......
We were part of a group of 10 people who booked back in 2019 for 2020, and due to COVID this was pushed to 2021. No problems in doing this. The actual trip is magnificient, very relaxing, the river Murray is just so beautiful and the birdlife so interesting. The excursions were great however as the waterfall doesnt have water this part should be seasonal ... or added when there has been rain. Ngaut Ngaut conservation park was an excellent excursion, the guides provided interesting information in a relaxed happy manner. Food was delicious, the effort of Bertrand was appreciated. However I feel some introductory discussion re meals should have happened at the beginning to save some unnecessary and unpleasant comments. Some things were impossible due to COVID restrictions eg buffet style meals. There were a couple of rather rude people on this trip. The staff are amazing, and they work tirelessly to accommodate the guests requests. The Barramundi, was truly the freshest best cooked fish I have had. The Kangaroo likewise. The Captains dinner was a highlight. John the skipper gave us much information about the region, the river, and the history. The Proud Mary rooms have air conditioning and very comfortable beds, and well planned storage in a limited space. Bathroom space is restricted but workable. You dont need a huge suitcase of clothing. Dont compare it to a large ocean cruise. It has a maximum of 36 guests !!!!!!

Great way to experience the Murray
We went on the 2 night trip that leaves on friday at 7pm from Murray Bridge and returns sunday at 4pm. This is a great way to experience the river as there is plenty of time to sit on the back deck under cover or at the front of the boat to watch the river go by. They also include a small boat tour along the cliffs on saturday afternoon and bird watching and a trip to the mannum waterfalls on a bus on sunday. On saturday morning you get around 2 hours to wander in mannum which has some interesting buildings and shops. Saturday night they provide a bbq on the banks of the river plus a band that sings for a couple of hours. Our airconditioned cabin was very nice with everything that you need - it can be a bit tight in the bathroom/shower area. The meals were good but you all get served the same meal even for breakfast (due to covid and no serve yourself). They do cater for different dietary requirements though. We had 30 on our trip so its not crowded and you get to chat to most of the guests. The stairs are quite narrow and so you have to be careful getting around.
