Great intro into Opal Mining Life
We wanted to give our 9 year old an insight into what Coober Pedy and the life of opal miners was and is like today. Even though we arrived late in the afternoon we were welcomed and went on our way with the self guided tour. We ducked and weaved our way through this well thought out display of opal mining and the life of opal miners of yesteryear and today. It was a real authentic experience. As all good tours do, they finish in the gift shop :) the showcases of opal Jewellery was fantastic and for all budgets. I was lucky enough to distract my wife long enough and got her outside before she had time to buy anything.

A Must See and Buy an Opal
The mine is small and lots of experience in small spaces as the miners had to endure. The museum had heaps of information on the history of mining. Opals were on sale and information given was very helpful also prices were reasonable. Recommend a must see sight.
