Interesting place

A must-see place to go if only because of the beauty of the building. It is huge compared with other similar places and be mindful of the very serious security getting in to the synagogue! Documentation required and full search carried out.

    Great Synagogue
    A piece of great architecture and splendid decor. The designer was familiar with and enchanted by Spanish Arab architecture and it is visible in the Mosque. You can visit it Sun-Fri all day. The entrance is 5 BNL, guide not included. But if you ask questions the keeper is eager to answer. The main chandelier is a piece of art itself and it's supposed to weigh almost 2 tones. Unforgettable experience especially on a sunny day when the light gets to the glittering walls.

    Beautiful synagogue!
    Went there for prayers in the morning for two days and met the locals. While we didn't get a minyan (quorum), we prayed together anyway to start the day off right. After prayers we were able to enter the main sanctuary which is truly beautiful in the morning light with the sun entering through the stained glass windows. Definitely worth a visit!
