One of the most beautiful houses I have ever seen! Breathtaking and unforgettable experience!

This is one of the most breathtaking and beautiful houses I have ever seen. Its iconic front facade is extraordinary and fascinating and the fact that this house is build in 1854 is mind blowing. The garden in front is well maintained and creates calm and relaxing atmosphere. I loved the interior of the building because of its specific wall paintings. An intriguing history surrounds the family that owned the house. Also a good feature is that its part of a museum tour which contains several other iconic houses of other famous Bulgarian revolutionaries. It is a must see and I strong recommend visiting it!!!

    National Revival style
Of all the places on the municipal combo-ticket for house museums in Koprivshtitsa, this is the one which is not connected to a celebrated figure in Bulgarian culture and history. It was obviously commissioned by a wealthy man and according to available information built by craftsmen from Plovdiv in the typical National Revival style of the mid 19th century In 1906 the house was sold to a merchant called Lyutov, after whom the house is now named. Very impressive is the 'Hayet', the central room with elaborate ornamental paintings. In the house now are displayed various textiles like typical Koprivshtitsa felt rugs, but also traditional dresses. Unlike the other houses with their information boards on culture and history this is a place to visit for its ethnographic exhibits and for its attractive architecture.

    Fascinating history
There are a number of house museums to visit, but we were only able to visit 2 due to time restrictions. There are a number of interesting information boards in multiple languages, and a fascinating display of historical information & items. Renovated sympathetically & worth a visit. Good value for money.
