Manchar Lake, Sindh Province, Pakistan

3.5 (8 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Sehwan Bodies of Water

Largest Fresh Water Lake of Pakistan

Easily accessible while travelling through District Dadu. Just few kilometers from main Dadu-Karachi road or 30 mins drive from Sehwan Sharif. Not very prominently marked on ground and least developed as tourist attraction. Recommended to be visited but with locals for language etc. No food stuff or leisure place available here. Only boating is the leisure option. One can access on car as well from main road side. Do not forget to bargain as thumb rule.

Water water every where but not a drop to drink.
I visited Manchar Lake last year with a few of my friends and found it one of the most neglected area. Although the name and importance of this lake is very much yet there is no proper arrangement for the visitors. visitors can hardly stay a couple of hours there. we can visit by boats of the fisherman. there are homes of fisherman and shops of fish to sell or transport . I really enjoyed and learnt the love of land by seeing these fisherman who live there on the lake and inside the lake despite meager life surviving facilities. They seemed fully absorbed in the love of the land.

Quite interesting but you can't see much
The idea of visiting Manchar Lake with Mohana people living in house boats sounds appealing at first. In reality, you can only visit one house boat (after paying) and you can't even take pictures of other house boats as those are considered private property. A bit of a disappointment at the end of the day..
