Calm

Khecheopalri Lake is situated amidst Khechoedpaldri hill, which is also considered a sacred hill, this lake is also a Buddhist religious pilgrimage. The 20 minutes walk up to the late is between the forest, which is calm and soothing. I went early in the morning, and almost had the place to myself. There are lot of fishes in the lake and people offer prayers near the bank.

    Peaceful and Serene
One of the most peaceful and serene places that I have ever come across in my life. The place also has religious significance both for Buddhists and Hindus alike. There are idols, temples, and structures all around that signify the holiness of this place and it has some sort of influence on people too when they visit. The shape of the lake is in the form of a foot, and it has religious folklores attached to it. Amazing discovery about the lake, you will find no leaves on the lake as the birds pick these tree sheddings and park them aside keeping the lake clean. Please buy fish food at the entry gate and don't forget to feed them, it is a joyous experience to watch them gather around and devour those dried wheat balls. Spend some time and immerse in this marvel of nature.

    Good Experience
This lake has a lot of religious significance for the local Buddhists. Do not come here expecting a picnic atmosphere. Tips: - Walk to the top of the hill if you can for a very beaustiful view of the lake and the surroundings from the viewing tower on the top. On the way you also cross a holy cave - Do not miss the Tashi Choling Monastery near the car park as you exit the lake. I hardly found anyone going to this monastery after visiting the lake. It is a big monastery with a large number of lamas living here.
