M'Pai Bay, Sihanoukville Province, Cambodia

3.5 (60 reviews) Spent Ranking #11 in Sihanoukville Province Bodies of Water

Loved it.

Quiet and more Cambodian than the other beaches. Very small town bars Along the beach no tourist souvenir shops. Really lovely. Walk right Along the beach for privacy. We loved it.

    Imperfect but beautiful nonetheless
My lovely wife and I spent four nights in M'Pai Bay. It's a quieter, less commercialised alternative to nearby Saracen Bay. You'll find a selection of guesthouses, bars & restaurants clustered around the pier and a few more scattered throughout the village. It's very much a backpacker hangout so you can expect a chilled hippy vibe, cheap dorm rooms, cold showers, 75 cent draft beers, vegan cafés, wood fired pizzas and all the banana pancakes your heart could ever desire. But it's also very much a real village so you can also expect friendly local kids, dogs & chickens aplenty and a little bit of litter here & there. It's imperfect but it's a pleasant place to spend a few lazy days. Some people seem happy enough to hang out on the small beaches near the pier but the real star attractions lie a short walk away. Head over the foot bridge and you'll quickly come to beautiful Long Beach. From the far end of this beach a 20 to 30 minute walk through the jungle brings you to the more remote Clearwater Bay. In both cases you'll find soft sands, crystal clear water and plenty of space to kick back & relax. Long Beach is well looked after and pretty clean. Clearwater Bay has no accommodation as the Driftwood Hostel is now permanently closed. With nobody on hand to pick up the flotsam & jetsam, there's a little more trash here so don't expect a pristine beach. But if you walk to the far end you can pretty much guarantee being gloriously alone. Both of the above beaches are earmarked for development. Indeed, in both cases work has began on clearing areas of jungle to make space for new Chinese funded resorts. Change is definitely afoot. Come now before the whole place changes forever.

    cheap service
The beach was not more beautiful than the Saracen Bay. But It still be beautiful by its way. Specially , the service such as the food, acommondation... are so cheap. I spent ~5-7$ for the taxi boat to came here.
