An impimposing ressive setting but not the place for nature lovers
Luzhou bills itself as the "civilized city" and the commitment the local government has made to parks and green spaces would be a credit to a city three times the size. However the really impressive parks and gardens are on the Yangtze river rather than on Tuojiang which is smaller and more densely developed. So after appreciating the grandeur of the amphitheater, catch a taxi or take an hour's walk across town and sample the gardens and open spaces along the city's Yangtze border.
