First and foremost, I want to say that I recommend coming to see the Giant Pandas (if you are already in Chengdu) and this place will be worth your trip. However, I WAS BITTEN BY A RED PANDA. The enclosure for the Red Pandas have holes in the gates so the pandas can run from area to area. This was not on any of the signage so I was surprised to see a panda run right across the path in front of me. There are signs that say to be quiet and a different sign that something to the effect that these pandas can be aggressive. I was quietly walking through the enclosure, taking photos when a family came into the enclosure behind me. I heard their small children scream (I'm assuming they did that because they saw a panda on the path) which probably frightened the panda that ran right up behind my leg, grabbed me hard and bit me! I was bleeding and no one helped me - including the parents of tabout any possible danger to humans. The giant pandas are beautiful but you can see them at the Beijing zoo. I am so sorry I ever went to Chengdu. If this is your only reason to go to this city, go see the Giant Pandas somewhere else.

Nice historic Mountain with plenty of greens
Lots of routes to explore - have to have strong legs though. Can easily spend an entire day there. The cable car queue can take you one hour to get on, so you may want to consider going on foot. Lots of greens and intersperse with lakes and gasping views.
