Good at Day and Night
We would recommend going to the bridge near sunset so you can enjoy the area. We did a 20 minute walk from the Chunxi Street area which is pretty easy. There are quite a few bars in the area that offer happy hour specials so we hung out in the area for a while. Lots of the bars and restaurants in the area don't open until 6 pm or later and the bridge looks much better with the lights on.

Easy Chengdu Icon to see
We spent an hour or so walking with a couple of beers along the river on both sides to get photos of the iconic bridge. Spectacular when lit up and has the last of the days sun hitting it with the buildings in the background. Wasn't too crowded so it was easy to get around

Very pretty bridge!
The bridge is a staple of chengdu, and it does not disappoint. It makes for a great picture, especially at night. The area does have a bar street next to it, so you can stay for awhile. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars, is because unless you live in the area you will need to taxi to it.
