Towel Museum, Shikoku, Japan
3.5 (250 reviews) Friday: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #8 in Ehime Prefecture Speciality Museums
Featuring Moomin
The name of this attraction can be quite mis-leading. We arrived early in the morning. For me, it looked more like a mini shopping mall than boring museum. There is one floor for food. There are 2 to 3 more levels for various types of products (not limited to towels). We started from viewing the weaving machines. The interesting part started when gigantic moomin & family appear. The art works are great. I did shop after a short tour. Most items are made in China instead of Japan. However, I love the characters & designs. Therefore, I too got something back home.

Good if you like arts and crafts, or textiles.
I was on a tour so didn't plan on stopping here but it was okay. You get to see the towels made so I had to buy some. Expensive but really soft towels, and friends and family are asking about them.

Not really a towel museum.
There is a nice museum but it was not entirely towel-related (the main exhibits were Moomin and hang when we went) which were actually pretty interesting exhibits, just off-topic. Most of the towel-related items were the shops. The museum was also out of the way.
