Salt Lake visit
Very interesting. The foam spray from the lake lands all over the grass and bushes and looks like snow.

Superb area
Had a good trip here on way through to see the mountain stopped at a temple on the way and we enjoyed our day out very much So big an area really good you must go if in this area

Red Salt Lake in China
This review is based on a CCTV science and history program. The salt lake in Yuncheng appears in a beautiful blood red color around every 1000 years. This is due to the magnesium sulfate and it lasts for a few days before being washed away. It was last seen in 2015 and before that during the Tang Dynasty. Guess we'll need to wait until around 3015 to see it again unless Mother Nature changes her mind. The Chinese archeologists have found evidence that the salt of the lake had been used over 6000 years ago. They also showed some Temples of the Emperor. Yenchang has an interesting history and appears to be an off the regular tourist route. After one has seen Beijing, Shanghai and Xian it is time to see those places off the beaten track such as Yuncheng
