Lovely Temple

This Chinese Buddhist Temple hosts two jade Buddha statues imported from Burma, along with many other cultural relics. It is a peaceful refuge from the modern bustle of Shanghai, where monks may be seen and heard conducting Buddhist ceremonies.

    Lovely Temple
We visited as part of a tour and the whole place is absolutely beautiful especially the Jade Buddha. The only downside is whilst you are free to roam the other areas the Jade Buddha room is a one way and was very crowded with people pushing and crowding in as everyone wants a good view of the Buddha. There are no photos allowed of the Jade Buddha and there are security in the room to enforce this however whilst in there I spotted a few people taking pictures who were not spotted so perhaps a better eye needs to be kept if pictures are not allowed

    Great temple!
Surprisingly this temple is nice, a good size and historical. Just walking distance from the Changshou metro station line 7. There’s a variety of statues of gods and goddesses to be admired snd prayed (if you are a Buddhist). There are 2 Jade buddhas, one reclining and one sitting upright. Both in different parts of the temple. The reclining buddha is in white jade and the sitting buddha is in green jade. Sitting buddha sits in an airconditioned room where no photography is allowed. Pretty cool visit!
