Fascinating Look at Ancient Times

Surviving calligraphy on bamboo slips tells the story of battle strategies perfected thousands of years ago by Sun Tzu. Beautiful traditional Chinese architecture houses relics of the Han Dynasty era. If you are fascinated by The Art of War, here lie the original scripted words and instructions of Sun Tzu, miraculously preserved after being submerged in water for millennia beneath the present-day city of Linyi in Shandong Province, China.

    A must see in Linyi
The Linyi bamboo slips museum is a must see when you are in the city. The slips discovered in an ancient tombe of the Han dynasty are very worthwhile. Bring an interpreter, since the guide speaks fluently Chinese.

    History Lovers Only
This is a small museum in the heart of Linyi but still worth a trip if you love seeing some historical artifacts. I appreciate The Art of War so this place has a bit of coolness in it for me. My daughter who is 6 had fun because she had my phone to take pictures but it's not really a place for kids to enjoy. There is a warriors suit that my daughter saw from Mulan so she enjoyed that. I appreciated seeing what was excavated from the tomb and how it was preserved. There is an upstairs level that everyone almost missed.
