Spectacular
We took the tour to see the Million Bird Island and the shear amount of birds, mainly seagulls, that followed the boat was amazing. You can buy the little meat sticks to feed the birds from the boat, but I would suggest buying a sack full before you go. The gulls won't eat bread, so don't waste your money. It is really a lot of fun to toss the food into the air and watch the gulls catch it and sometimes steal it from each other.

Amazing
We took the ferry from Penglei to go to Changdao. On arrival at the port a few hundred meters we bought tickets for an almost 4 hour boat ride. The boat had two floors and if you paid 10 rmb extra on the boat you could stay at the deck upstairs. We fed the seagulls and for the whole boat ride we had an entourage of birds following us letting us take wonderful photos as we passed the beautiful small islands close to Changdao. It is not very easy to travel around the island if you do not know Chinese. As we did not meet anyone that spoke English. We also did not see any foreigners at all.

Good but just seagulls
First, the location on the map is wrong, this island is in the north of the main island. We go there since it was included in our tour, we went very early in the morning by speed boats. The trip to arrive to the island is nice, we could see the main island, some fishermen. But once in the island is only seagulls, there are a lot of them, people feed them.. and that's it
