Spring-fed waterway, lined with weeping willow trees

This is a street with a spring-fed, winding waterway, was first built more than 1,500 years ago. The Fuxue Confucian Temple and the Hundred Flower Pond are along its route. In the area, there is a great photo op beside the 3D, life-like painting of a horse and some of the ancient buildings.

    Quaint street but getting touristy
    The street is a small alley, starting with many shop carts near the entrance. Along the way, the many ancient houses were converted to tea houses, shops selling souvenir, handicraft etc. While it was enjoyable to walk along the alley, it has become too commercialised. Nevertheless, still worthwhile to drop by when visiting Daming Lake. Half an hour is sufficient.

    Nice place to walk around. It's like Beijing's Hutong (ally) to enjoy old Jinan
    It was nice to walk around the area early in the morning where a lot of local residents were there to start their day. Washing clothes, eating street foods, exercising. The houses along the small canal were old style and has got a lot of good atmosphere. The ally reaches to Daminghu (Da Ming Lake) so this mini trip should be combined together with a visit to Daming Lake.
