Must see in Xi’an
The historical part of Xi’an is surrounded by a city wall, like the one in “Mulan movie”. For 54 yuan (in 2021) you can come up to the wall and take a walk or rent a bike to ride along the wall. The bike is 45 yuan plus 100 yuan for deposit for 1 person, for 1 day. You can rent and leave your vehicle on each station next to wall exit/entrance (fatally there are 4 exits). The wall is around 13km, so it will take you around 3-4 hours to walk around it. On the wall you can find small shops with souvenirs and snacks, along with tourists office and toilets. A great place to enjoy the city view, especially at night time

Good Visit Cut Short by Rain
The ancient city wall is cool considering the history and you will want to spend time inside the walls with the trendy restaurants, bars and Muslim quarter but being on top of the wall isn't too exciting. The Wall length is 13.7 km and there are some nice towers and views around but it is similar on all four sides. We would recommend checking the weather and renting a bike on top if you want to do the whole wall. Keep in mind that it is very exposed (not a lot of shade or shelter) so check the weather and plan your day accordingly. We went in the afternoon when it was hot and sunny but rain clouds set in and we kind of got stranded in the heavy rain before we were able to do the full loop of the wall. We will tell friends to plan for a morning or cloudy day so it isn't so hot if they must do the city wall. The cost is 54 RMB per person to get on top of the wall, 45 RMB for a bike rental and 90 RMB/per person for tandem bicycle. There are a few shops and souvenir stalls on top of the wall as well. Please note that you can rent and return the bikes from any bicycle rental stall.
