    Fascinating Museum
Worth a visit if you are interested in the history of the region. Artefacts are well displayed but it is worth taking a Chinese friend as in common with most Chinese museums the individual items are only labelled in Chinese although each section does have an introductory notice with an English translation. You will need to book ahead on line and if you are a non-Chinese citizen you need to go to the ticket office on the right of the main square. Remember to take your passport!

Definitely the best museum to learn China's history!!
Since Xi'an (and cities in its proximity) had been China's capital for 13 dynasties and probably 4,000 - 5,000 years. This museum exhibits ancient China's history and development very well in good sequence. This place is foreigner-friendly as all items are labelled in both Mandarin and English (as I found this is a rare case in Beijing). It took me almost 3 hours to complete 3 major exhibitions and it was really worthwhile! The place is large and quite clean by the time I visted.
