Interesting and cultural place. Worth to visit

I would say this place is mostly for business for the local Muslim community. It is really nice to visit it though, especially in the evening. What I would recommend is to skip dinner and go there in the evening and try various kinds of foods. You will be surprised and I think most of the people would enjoy the food. You must try the local specialty, the grilled squid. Many places have it. It is really nice. You can also buy there many souvenirs. Probably no performances, as I did not experience any but loads of food and souvenirs and other things to buy. Surely worth to go!

    Loved it!
This is the kind of place I love. Once you get off the manicured central walkway there is so much life and the everyday people of Xi'an. I read many of the "Terrible" reviews and it seems those people complained it was full of people. Yes it is. They complained about the smell. We didn't have that, (other than the squid, which I hate, but its part and parcel of many things in Asia. People cook squid on their carts) but if it was summer it might have been too much, but this is the rambunctious crowded, city life in a quarter of Xi'an that hasn't been gentrified. Its wonderful and amazing, but you have to be ok with crowds, being jostled, having your senses overloaded. This is what traveling to me is about. If you want a manicured, sterile visit don't come here. If you want local color then go. If you want great and unique local foods, then go.

    Bazaar with good food
Lots of stalls with good food, fresh fruit drinks, all prepared in front of passers-by. Next to the bazaar, where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, handicrafts, etc. Good place for shopping and a local meal. I recommend trying sweets made of peanut mass, the preparation of which is a spectacular spectacle. Personally, I prefer to be there in the evening because it is much nicer. The place has its own specific atmosphere. Unfortunately, huge numbers of tourists make it quite noisy and cramped.
