A Classic House

The artefacts on display are very interesting but the real attraction is the house itself , once the home of a wealthy 17th Century merchant , well worth a visit. Just mins from the medina.

    A delightful museum
    This museum is in fact a typical house of the period (17th century) originally belonging to the Jellouli family (note different spelling). The house has a courtyard and several floors and the rooms are well displayed with many artefacts of the perio, including costumes. Among the attractions are some stunning examples of calligraphy. If you are in Sfax, this should not be missed,

    Nice small museum which needs a renewal
    Nice and small museum without roof view. Clean place which needs some renovation. There has been a little information in arabic and french, missed a handout. Who has ever visited Mussee Dar Essid in Sousse (which I would compare in style and highly recommend if you ever visiting Sousse) will be disappointed. Stuff was very nice and helpful, guided us to the ribat.
