First rate steam railway
This preserved railway deep in Saxony is superb. The effort expended in reopening a section of the Wolkenstein to Johstadt line is clear to see. The locomotives are very well presented and the coaches are beautifully restored. Internally the coaches were very clean and warm on a cold day. The service was frequent and the route very attractive running alongside the river for much of its length. Facilities at Johstadt are adequate but will soon be improved I believe. Everyone on the railway was very friendly despite the language barrier. A small amount of English was spoken to day I visited. For photographers the line is excellent, so many possibilities! Many are easy to reach from the road whilst others require a walk along a forest track.

Scenery a bit boring
We took two ways ticket. Looks like, it snowed last night. So still can enjoy a bit white view. The drive was too long with old chair. Very soon I felt bored and cannot sit well.
