German expressionists
While Chemnitz is a rather uninspiring place, the museum is worth the trip. Excellent exhibits especially of German expressionists with large collection of Jawlensky and Otto Dix. Very nice building and set up of the exhibits.

Really a place to visit if interested in arts
The Gunzenhauser has a really large collection of art by Dix and Schmidt-Rotluff, amongst some other things. If you are interested in modern arts, this is definitely the place to visit!

Fascinating collection of modern (20th century) art
I was surprised to find this gem in a small city like Chemnitz - a fascinating collection of modern art. The building is interesting as well. A fantastic place to visit!
