Cold water on a hot day = awesome
Go here to cool down on a hot day, there is loads of space, plenty of room for privacy if you wish if not get into the crowds and enjoy! The nearby restaurants are god but very busy on the weekends if its hot so bring a packed lunch if you don't like waiting for your bratwurst or ice cream. Parking is expensive but hey, don't park in the streets you will get a parking fine. Loads of people always passing so makes for good people watching too. Water is clean and so are the surroundings, you can hire a SUP or boat if you like also.

Escape the city
We were fortunate to visit on a warm, sunny, Saturday. It's a long walk from the car park (there is a bus service) and many people take their bikes or arrive on roller blades. (It cost us 6,50 euros to park all day.) There are various food outlets around the lake (although we weren't keen on their choice of musak!) If you like peace and quiet then it's worth making your way round the wooded edges of the lake where you'll find lots of little spots where you can sit and enjoy the view, sunbathe, snooze, and/or swim. There are boats you can hire, too. Be aware that the locals enjoy sunbathing so it's not unusual to come across a naked body or two . . .

beautifull
just a bikeride away from leipzig through parks and forests. I really enjoyed hanging out here in the sun. there are beach bars and the general ambiance is really nice. i didnt try the water though!
