Worth visiting
Quite tricky to find, especially as you have to cross a building site after crossing the bridge to the state legislature side of the river. It is worth the effort as the orchid garden is super. Lots to see, even if you are not a particularly keen gardener

great and it is free
visited after recommendation, crossed the water taxi for 1 rm for 2 people, and is located behind the gold roofed government building. Beautiful well kept gardens with a massive collection of beautiful orchids. Well worth a visit.

Below expectations this time
I have always love this place which is just ‘across’ the river ? Coming back to Kuching ; the Orchid Garden is a must visit. This time I am taking my son’s girlfriend (her first time to Kuching and of course the Orchid Garden) and my daughter ? But there weren’t the display of orchids of previous years outdoor ? but the indoor (air conditioned) still had some for which I was grateful or I’d be telling tall tales ? Wear comfy shoes, insect repellent, hat or bring brollies (umbrella) for the sun and/or rain. Opens 9:30 am and entry has been free all these years but do check just in case.
