Mount Santubong, Sarawak, Malaysia

4.5 (264 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Kuching Mountains

Waterfall, suspension bridge and more.

There were 2 trails available, red, leading to the summit and blue, a loop leading back to the registration hut. At the time we were there, the red trail was closed due to the wet weather. The blue trail was very interesting as we overcame different obstacles. We came upon a waterfall, suspension bridge, crossed rivers, jumped onto a vine and swung around like Tarzan, climbed down a steep slope, saw an insect giving birth, saw Venus fly traps, etc. In other words, it was heaps of fun.

Know what you're getting yourself into lol
Summit trail (now yellow markings): 4hrs up 3.5hrs down, bring enough water especially if you're not used to the heat. The last 2.5hrs are climbed on all fours. The trail is very well maintained and safe even for beginners, however very challenging. I'm not in bad shape but my legs barely made it.
