Situated at 18 1/2 Miles (29KM) Kuching Serian Highway, a 30 minutes leisure drive from Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, Land of Hornbills, Jong's crocodile farm & zoo is the first & largest captive breeding crocodile farm in Malaysia. Set amidst the charming backdrop of tall tropical trees, lush vegetation and local fruit trees, lie this unique farm with over two thousand crocodiles bred in captivity. The farm provides a perfect sanctuary for the reptiles, saving the species from extinction. There are few natural breeding ponds for the crocodiles to mate and multiple. Visitors are able to gaze at the snapping jaws, cold menacing eyes, sharp pointed teeth and powerful lashing tails of the crocs within short distance yet safe because of the metal fence. Apart from crocodiles, there are also numerous rare species of birds and animals (for example- monkeys, peacocks, sunbears, bearcats, pheasants, civets, deers, owl, eagle, fish and phyton) found only in the Borneo Island.

    Locked in ?
The family and I have been visiting Jong’s crocodile farm n zoo since 2000 and two days ago we made this trip again with their cousins and an auntie ; all adults now ? Love the crocodile feedings and the monkeys sections. The arapaima pond looks ‘strangled’ by water lilies n water plants for some reason but it was still exciting to see them fed. A visit to the washroom saw me locked in at 4:30 pm even though closing time says 5:00 pm. Even though there was a signage to direct alternative exit of the zoo; the door itself was not marked ?. There was a moment of panic when i went two rounds looking for a door (having by passed the metal door twice! ) I did not dare to open THAT door which could have opened to crocodiles ?? The staff who locked the door was told ‘Mum is in the washroom ... ‘ but was ignored ? I actually saw n talked to my son but the staff was gone ... ?? Other than that the visit was still good. Wear comfy shoes, insect repellent and a hat.
