Wat Phra Buddha Badh, Saraburi Province, Thailand

4.5 (38 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Phra Phutthabat Speciality Museums

A striking Temple with a notable Buddha footprint

Wat Phra Putthabat is situated approximately halfway between Saraburi and Lopburi, about a kilometre off Highway 1. It is very well signposted and you can't miss the impressive Avenue leading to the Wat. The main Temple is striking and is built around what is regarded as an exceptional example of a Buddha footprint. The Wat is set on a the side of a small hill with an impressive, wide gentle stairway that leads to the 'terrace' on which the pavilion is built. While not large it serene, ornately decorated and very interesting. It is well worth a visit if you are in the Saraburi area or travelling via Lopburi. The area is landscaped and shady; there are several reasonable, small restaurants and good toilet facilities near the carpark.

    Wat Phraphuthabat
Wat Phra Phuthabat is a very impressive Temple and the Number One pilgrimage temple in Thailand. The Temple has intricately carved pieces and sits quite high with a small mountain/hill immediately behind it which can be climbed, on steps, but in the heat is quite heavy going.
