San Cristobal - Don't miss this

The view alone with the statue is the reason to visit this holy sight. The funicular adds to the experience, but stop at the 1st stop on the funicular and visit the zoo. It was delightful and completed our day. I do suggest walking sticks for the steep hills.

    great
    The last time we were here late spring of 2016. The view then was superb, the mountains and Santiago City . The place will bring up your inner spirituality and will question human behavior as smug is being blame by geography of Santiago. Even in the valley city of Santiago, we need to reflect on how we should take care of our world. Santiago City has been trying very hard to decongest and make our world better to live. August 2022 is winter and Santiago is still a nice place to visit.

    three reasons
    the Santuario is situate on the summit of the highest point in Santiago. You can get up by walking, or by taking the funicular or by arriving on the cable car. Once up at the top (reason 1) is an immense statue dedicated to the immaculate conception sitting above an open area (amphitheater) church. Down a couple of flights of stairs and to your left (reason 2) is a charming chapel made of local rock that blends it into the summit. And throughout your visit don't forget (reason 3) to look around - it's the best view of the whole city all the way to the Andes.
