Colorful Space With Nice Shops

This is a must if you want to taste their food and see the handmade products. It opens only at 11 am, but it is open all day long. With Mexican, Japonese, Peruan restaurants and cafe is a perfect break for your lunch. I would not advise you to go after 7 pm during these days as the protests are really close and you may get caught in.

    Came back on same trip
We found this place based on the recommendation of our local guide Victor/Raul. Spent the morning at Cerro San Cristobal, about a 5 minute walk away. The walk from Pio Nonna funicular station was pleasant. Had a nice meal of ceviche, beer and pulled beef sandwich along the way. The Patio is just off the main streets, you can see it down the alleys that point toward the center of the block (back sides of the buildings). Walk down the short alley and have your pick of nice shops selling everything! Cuban cigars, lapis lazuli jewelry (a local stone), t-shirts, food, drinks, and more! You can visit and shop or choose to have a drink and stay a while, or both! It's great fun to hang with travelers and locals - try the huge mound of French fries covered with onions, followed by a big pile of shredded meat, and a couple of fried eggs on top - a Chilean specialty that I hear goes well with Chilean beer. Enjoy!

    Good place to eat
The Patio Bellavista is an inside court filled with many Restaurants in a safe area of Santiago. You'll find everything there, the cuisine is very international, from authentic Chilean to Bavarian style German food. Add some Italian, Peruvian or Chinese food, it is all there. Some places are pricey, but there are plenty of reasonably priced places to eat and the staff everywhere is young and friendly. The only thing we did not like was the loud music played in some of the establishments
