Hours of fun for kids of all ages
This museum is huge, and has a ton of fun, and very educational, things for kids to do. It has 2 huge levels that include interactive displays with light, sound, optical illusions, electronics, body movement, bubbles, art, gravity, and more. It has a playground outside, and a fun area with multi-colored ribbons for kids to run through. We have taken our daughter twice, (because we live in Santiago), once when she was 18 months, and again when she was 2.5 years, and she has loved it each time. The best thing about it is that is has such a range of things to do that families with several children will be able to keep everyone happy. Kids in high school have fun there, with the more advanced displays, and there is plenty for younger children as well. There is a aquarium there as well, but we've never had time or energy to go after several hours at the MIM, and we've been told by friends who have gone that it is not worth a visit. There is a cafe which has snacks, and you can connect to the museum on the metro, as there is a shuttle from the metro to the museum.

    Great interactive museum for kids
We spent almost 5 hours there and could easily have stayed longer. They have 2 buildings - one devoted to space which took about an hour and the larger one devoted to all things science. The one about space has both Spanish and English translations. Information in the other building is only in Spanish but you can figure out most of the exhibits even if your Spanish skills are only rudimentary. Our 8 year old absolutely loved the entire experience as everything is hands on. Highly recommend this for anyone with kids. Price of admission is quite reasonable for all that you get to see /do. Unlike some other reviews, we did not find the museum to be overrun with kids. There were other kids there but usually only a few other kids in each of the large exhibit spaces so no wasted time spent waiting in line. Each ticket allows you to visit 2 free presentations, but the presentations are only in Spanish. Abouta 10-15 minute walk from the Mirador metro station. They have a restaurant and cafe on site.
