    Red painted “door”.
This pretty red-painted Puerta de San Juan or San Juan Gate is where you re-enter the city. Above the gate is inscribed “Benedictus qui venit in nomine domini”- Latin for “blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord”. You will follow the same path many sailors took centuries ago after a long voyage.

    Easy to Spot
So walking along Paseo del Morro, this gate is easy to spot as it is painted red and stands out from the stone of the city wall. If you go inside the wall, you only know it is a gate due to the opening and the road through it. The one neat thing inside was the tile image of Saint John over the passageway. So look at it from both sides and experience the contrast.
