Let Me Show you MY Island Tour
I booked the Let Me Show You My Island Tour. It was important that we had a private tour because my family of 7 needed special attention. My family included a 17 month old, a 4 yr old, a 15 yr old and 4 adults. One of the adults, my mom, had 2 fractured heels. Our tour guide was Nelson, he took special attention to our specific needs. He quickly stopped at facilities that had clean restrooms for my 4 yr old, he gave my mom special assistance getting in and out of the van each time. This was our first time in Puerto Rico and this tour gave us a great overview of the east side of the island. We made about 5 stops and each was great for my entire family. For example, we went to a cave, near the cave was a playground, he allowed for a few extra minutes for our young kids to play while the older ones explored the cave longer. We also stopped at El Yunque, he took us to a location at the river that was safe for my mom and our young kids to walk. He taught us about the vegetation and the rainforest. The location had a shallow area for our young kids to safely play and it had a nearby deeper area where my teen could swing off a rope into the river. My husband was interested in the history of Puerto Rico and Nelson took us to Old San Juan and showed us an amazing wall that displayed the history in the form of art. He went through each section of the wall and explained it in great detail. Overall, we had an amazing day learning about Puerto Rico with Nelson. Each member of my family was happy (including my teen). Lastly, we asked Nelson for a dinner recommendation. He suggested El Makito, which was our most delicious meal on the island.

Fabulous You're the Boss custom tour
Our knowledgeable guide Gonzalez created a memorable day for us. We learned about the history, culture, and current events. San Juan is a bigger city than we thought and I am glad we had Gonzalez to pace us so we could see as much as possible. He was able to pinpoint key shops of interest for me so I had time to purchase local art. Our guide introduced us to new, tasty cuisine in the Pinones and we had the opportunity to see the picturesque northeastern coastal towns. A customized tour made the most sense for us because we arrived too late in the morning for a group tour and our time in Puerto Rico was limited to 2 days. A taxi from San Juan to our hotel was about $100, so the custom tour does not seem that expensive considering it included airport pickup and our luggage was secure in the van while we were sightseeing. We left with a deeper connection and appreciation for Puerto Rico as well as a strong desire to return next year and spend more time in San Juan.
