Worth every penny!!!
I don't get the people complaining about bumpy ride, being splashed by water and island being far away. Thats the whole point. You are in the middle of the sea traveling by open speed boat! If you want to stay dry, put the slippers on, stay at the hotel and watch TV. For people who are more adventurous, don't wait, book the boat, take sun protection, hat, snorkeling equipment and enjoy your trip. The ride itself is fun, it definitely gives you decent shot of adrenaline. Island - one word, paradise! White sandy beaches surrounded by turquoise blue water. In the middle of the island is bunch of palms in case you want to run away from the sun. In one corner of the island there is place were young sharks lives. You can literally touch them when they passing by. Have your waterproof camera ready. The trip includes unlimited soft drinks and beer also lunch, fish or chicken with rice and salad. Don't listen to the moaners. Be brave, do something different and go to Cayo Bolivar.

Amazing!!!
I went to Cayo Bolivar with a small group of Brazillian friends and we had a great time there enjoying the breathtaking landscape around the island. The color of the sea is a wonderful light blue and the water is calm and warm..Even the lizards there were blue. :) Cayo Bolivar is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been! A must-see in Colombia for sure.

Amazing place!
If you go to San Andres there are things you MUST do, going to Cayo Bolivar is certainly one of them. This little island is a 50 min boat trip from SA. We bought tickets at a very good operator, Portofino, just close to our hotel (very organized, clean, safe and comfortable). The island has the most clear water I have ever seen! You can make snorkeling and see a great variety of fish including sharks, which are not agreesive (they don't even have teeth!). It's quite paradise. They kind of limit are number of visitors, so you should get early to the marina in order to be able to go (or book it in advance).
