Beautiful place to hang out

Such a nice place to hang out. Beautiful views of the bay. There are jet ski rentals, places to fish, a super long pier to walk out and fish or just take a stroll. There is a boat launch, so many boats here. I could spend the entire day here at the park, fishing, and taking in the views.

    The GEM of Safety Harbor!
    This is a great spot for some relaxing things to do. Take a walk down the pier and watch for various birds (especially brown pelicans diving for their meals) and for manatees. You can sometimes see them about 3/4 of the way down the pier toward the end. Be patient and look for bubbles. You can also see plenty of airplanes taking off and landing from both nearby airports. You can also fish from the pier, although I don't know how good the fishing actually is off of it. At the marina park there's picnic tables that are covered under structures to keep the sun and rain off you. This is a great place to bring some carry out and have a meal or snack because you'll usually have a breeze. At the marina park, there's some grassy areas where you could bring chairs or blankets to catch some sun. The marina is a great place to watch for fish, birds, manatees and even gators. Sometimes you'll see more wildlife in the marina than near the pier. On the other side of the parking lot, across from the marina park is the newest piece of the park - it's the land behind the Safety Harbor Spa. Currently it's all open land, but there'll be some development soon. However, it's a wonderful place to take a walk, fly a kite, play frisbee, have a picnic, walk the dog, etc. There's water fountains and restrooms available and usually you can get a parking spot. If you can't, then go across the street behind Starbucks/Crispers and you'll find parking there. The BEST thing to do at the pier/marina park is to catch Sunrise - it's beautiful! The next best thing to do is to catch sunset (although the sun sets on the opposite side, if you have a partial cloudy day, the clouds will light up with oranges/pinks/purples). Take a dinner, grab a picnic table and watch sunset, you'll love it. Plenty to do here, don't pass it up if you're in the area.

    Very relaxing
    There is a boat ramp and a fishing pier. There were many people out fishing. There is a nice walking path and grounds are very nice. There is parking but we had to wait for a spot and navigate through other cars and trailers trying to get their boats in the water.
