Great for shopping or exercizing
I have enjoyed shopping at the Macomb Mall since the early 60’s when it had all outdoor stores. They changed it to all indoor stores which made shopping much nicer in the winter. I am one of a number people who walk there year-round for exercise since it is clean, temperature controlled and there are always interesting things going on. If you like organized exercise, a Local hospital (St. John) has a walking group and they offer blood pressure checks for walkers. They have lost their anchor stores (Sears was always our primary stop, but their large building is being broken up and smaller stores are filling in). The mall now has a good variety of stores and they even have a play area for kids (for a fee). For a while the mall seemed to be in trouble. For a college class I surveyed the Mall since there were a number of vacant stores and not a lot of customers. Today I would be reporting on the mall as a success story with few vacant stores and new places to grab a bite. I am glad it seems to have found a new life.

Ghetto Mall
SO sad that this once safe mall has been titled a Ghetto Mall (No, I did not make this name up). There have been used syringes found in the bathrooms, parking lots, and doorways. Many people just hanging out outside at night. Homeless - maybe. Up to know good - more likely. Such a decline...
