Worst guide ever
Hello peeps It’s been a while since I last wrote but I feel I have to review this one. The reserve is very nice and the work done is amazing. Nevertheless I feel I have to share that I was very annoyed by our guide there. He call himself Bernard ‘la tortue’. His explanation on plants is inaccurate and his overall speech is very inappropriate. It’s definitely not very informative and sometimes offensive. It would be nice if the centre can give them courses on what to talk and how to communicate to people. I feel very annoyed of having to listen to such a guy for 90 minutes. I wish to stress on the fact that I was amazed by the great work done there but the resource person need to be dealt with. Thank you

lovely spot - worth it but please see to it that you get a good guide
The Reserve is splendid, well kept. It is so great to see such a wonderful work by a great team. We had the chance to spot a 2 to 3 days old baby turtle roaming alone on the plateau. We took it along with us to a dedicated zone for baby turtles where it was washed, identified and marked. it was indeed a great experience. Positives: 1) Splendid spot 2) The turtles seem to be well taken care of and loved 3) Well maintained impressive Cave 4) wild prunes on site can be tasted by visitors 5) local ice cream available at the entrance - very convenient with the intense heat 6) site adapted to elderly people with benches at different spots to rest if needed Cons: 1) We got Bernard as guide who was out of context most of time taking about phylosophy of life a bit too much instead of talking about the amazing history of Rodrigues, the turtles and the cave. I believe the guide needs a minimum formation. He got us really irritated. Also, it is ok to say "i do not know" rather than giving the wrong information through bluffing. 2) The restaurant: the restaurant was completely empty and the waiters were forcing us to sit on a table in the sun because that is where the table for 4 are. they refused to let us sit on the table for 6 which was in shade just because we were 2 people less. again, the restaurant was completely empty and we were the only 4 customers there.
