Don't Let the Crappy Clubhouse Fool You

I live nearby and play this course pretty regularly. From the road it looks terrible - dirt parking lot, industrial-looking clubhouse. But don't let that fool you; this course is a bargain, and generally very fun to play. It's a little tricked up, and it's kind of weird to have a "links-style" golf course in the middle of farmland, but they really make the most of their gently rolling landscape. There are more bunkers here than on just about any course within SE Michigan (I keep hearing numbers ranging from 65-90).

Decent for a fun round of golf
The greens were excellent when we played. They were reasonably quick and the ball rolled true. I played with a group and they played from the white tees which made it a short course. A couple of the par 4's were easily drivable (265 yards). So it is a very playable course but not a very challenging layout. Playing the blue or black tees would make it more difficult but still not a lot of hazards to avoid. So if you want to test your game on a difficult course find another place to play. The club house is not very good. Food consisted of chips and dogs. Definitely needs to be upgraded.

    Slow! Dangerous at times.
This course is nice but there are some irritating issues. There are several holes in which you really have to watch for tee shots from other areas. Not so bad-but be alert. There is an undercurrent I have felt there each time I have played. For some reason the starter seems to think he is working at Pebble Beach and is doing us a favor by letting us tee off. Each hole is different-just stay in the fairway, otherwise bring an extra dozen golf balls.
