Delightful interesting old house with excellent restaurant
The Chateau is an old plantation house in attractive grounds with many old trees. The house has been completely renovated and provides an excellent example of Mauritian architectural history. There is also a very interesting video presentation showing how the house was renovated as it appears it was close to collapse before the renovation was undertaken. Attached to the house is a beautiful restaurant overlooking the house’s grounds. The food there was excellent, the service is excellent and the price very reasonable. It gave us one of our best days in Mauritius.

    Gorgeous plantation
This beautifully restored plantation house is well worth a visit. Get your tickets at the entrance and visit the stunning gardens with a variety of exotic plants. Take a stroll through the grand house and admire the antique furniture, beautiful rooms and verandah. Lots of history in this place. You can have a bite to eat in the restaurant on site. Lovely decor and good food. The only negative with lunch was that the prawn soup, big portion was tiny! with 2 prawns!! There is also a rum and jam tasting. You can pick one rum and will taste 2 types of jam. Not exactly a large variety. This certainly could be improved.
